The Swansea University Covid-19 Response Fund
Swansea University is already playing a key role in the response to Covid-19. Since the outbreak began, we have been carrying out research into the social impact of the pandemic, helping our own students in their time of need and supporting our front-line workers by providing additional PPE and hand sanitiser.
Donations to the Covid-19 response fund will help us to provide the most supportive and caring environment possible for our students, from those suffering financially to those whose families and friends have been directly affected by the outbreak. By boosting the funding available to our hardship and wellbeing services, we will be ideally positioned to support our students as fully as possible both now and in the coming months. The University has dramatically increased its contribution in this area and received tremendous support from alumni and friends, but the unprecedented demand on the service continues to outpace what we are able to provide.
The fund will also provide our world class academics with important Covid-19 related research grants. We have already seen donations fund an internationally collaborative study which aims to understand, and ultimately improve, social responses to public health guidance, and there are several others which require funding to get started. The projects supported by the fund will help us return to normality as quickly and smoothly as possible; and manage future outbreaks of this nature more effectively.
Help us succeed!
While we recognise and appreciate that many of you will have been affected by the crisis, we hope that you will support us if you are able to. If you're not in a position to donate, you can still help us by sharing this page on social media and with your friends and family so that we can reach as many people as we can. We are hugely grateful for your support!
